Hi friends,

Greetings from the hive!

Last week, I discovered that Beehiiv, my preferred newsletter platform, launched its new Website Builder v2.

Instead of my usual approach of designing, seeking inspiration, and wireframing, I opted for a vibe design.

I know the term "vibe design" has received some criticism recently, but for me, it feels liberating. (Note that prior experience is necessary to effectively vibe design anything).

I tend to overthink or overdesign personal stuff, which often results in extended timelines.

To become more agentic and strengthen that skill, I decided to simply ship it.

So, here it is: a day late, but with a fresh Hive Five look & feel. Let me know what you think.

Let's take this week by swarm!

πŸ“° Updates

βœ… Changelog

  • Google Cloud suffered a massive 3-hour global outage on June 12th that knocked out Gmail, Drive, BigQuery, and dozens of other services due to a coding bug in their API management system. The crash was triggered by blank data fields that caused critical binaries to fail, affecting millions of users worldwide before engineers could deploy fixes. MORE

  • As of May 20, 2025, the HTML specification has been updated to escape < and > in attributes, helping prevent mutation XSS (mXSS) vulnerabilities. MORE

  • Obsidian Minimal theme 8.0.1 now better handles embedded content ("bases"). It fixes code block display and lets you hide toolbars for cleaner notes. MORE

  • Disney and Universal Sue AI Company Midjourney for Copyright Infringement. In the complaint, the Hollywood giants allege Midjourney generates β€œendless” ripoffs of everything from minions to Darth Vader. MORE

❝

"[...] The historian Fernand Braudel once wrote that time flows on multiple levels: the rapid time of events, the slow time of structures, the almost imperceptible time of geography. Constraints operate on the second level - they shape how you move through the world over years and decades. Not by pointing to a specific outcome, but by removing paths that would corrupt, dilute, or distract you. [...]"

πŸš€ Productivity

  • It's Annoying How Good Raycast. Sergio walks you through the free productivity tool for Mac that replaces Spotlight with superpowers. It launches apps, searches files, manages windows, tracks clipboard history, and offers extensive customization.Β MORE

  • Developer Philipp (Tailwind Labs) shares his daily workflow using Claude Code after a month of heavy usage, revealing practical tips like starting fresh threads frequently and using sub-agents for complex tasks. His techniques show how AI coding assistants can dramatically boost productivity when used strategically rather than as a magic one-shot solution. MORE

  • Timepeek is a free (and beautiful) online timezone planner designed to make scheduling across different time zones fast, simple, and effortless. MORE

  • Ghostty terminal will soon support macOS accessibility tools, letting AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude read your terminal screen with permission. This rare feature puts Ghostty alongside only a few terminals that work with accessibility and AI screen-reading capabilities. MORE
